My life 4 all to see
About you photo tagged "neurofibromatosis" - I'm hoping you weren't really trying to come off like as big of a douche as you sounded. Seriously? You are a nurse? I am so glad my sister, who was disfigured from NF and underwent extensive surgeries throughout her life, which ended 2 days shy of 26 years old last year, never had someone like you for a nurse. How can you post something like that? Yes, you are lucky that you aren't afflicted. But "minding your own business, almost fell out of your chair?" Have you ever thought about how it affects the people that have it? The staring, the nasty comments, the posts like these? My father has it. My brother and sister had it, but they both passed last year. And I can tell you - I learned more from them than any text book, teacher, or any other human being on this earth.

So - about your post - seriously?

First things first.  I am very sorry to hear of your losses.  I cannot imagine how horrible it is to lose family members like that as I have not experienced it yet.  Now, onto my post…are you serious???  Did you read it?  I had and still have never seen this genetic disorder in anyone.  Now imagine you have not grown up with it as you did and had never seen it and then skip your slide and see that.  At first I thought that there was something wrong with the slide, I never knew that there was any genetic disease that could be as disfiguring as the picture I posted.   I do also believe that the last sentence in my post said “WE SHOULD ALL CONSIDER OURSELVES LUCKY FOR NOT HAVING THESE TYPES OF GENETIC DISORDERS”  Never in my post did I POKE FUN, MAKE FUN OR DEMEAN ANYONE WITH A GENETIC DISORDER.  You young lady took that upon yourself to be demeaning in your message.  I was simply making people aware as I am sure there are many that do not even know this exists.

I am an amazing nurse with great compassion for those I take care of.  HOW DARE YOU BE THE ONE TO JUDGE ME.  If anyone should be ashamed of themselves it should be YOU!
